Hello, there! My name is Hajin Choi. I'm a user experience designer based in Portland, Oregon.
Originally from Seoul, Korea, I flew over to Pittsburgh back in 2006, hoping to figure out what to do with my life. After 4.5 years of studying communication design and human-computer interaction at Carnegie Mellon University, my answer became clear: to be a designer with heart and respect for people. I believe that thoughtfully designed products, services and systems, with genuine care for people in mind, can change our lives in meaningful ways. The very reason I'm excited about being part of UX industry.
While I'm familiar with all aspects of user experience design—UI and interaction design, user research, usability analysis, and you name it, what fascinates me most is "making things". I enjoy thinking through the problems (a.k.a. opportunities), sketching out ideas, and putting them into pixels. And do so while constantly asking if users will smile or frown.
Aside from work, I'm a loving wife, and mom of a two-year-old boy, which I find just as joyful and rewarding as being a designer.
I'm currently available for a full-time opportunity for a UX design position in the Portland area. If interested, please reach me at: firstname.lastname@example.org
