Hello, there! My name is Hajin Choi. I'm a user experience designer based in Portland, Oregon.
Originally from Seoul, Korea, I flew over to Pittsburgh back in 2006, hoping to figure out what to do with my life. After 4.5 years of studying communication design and human-computer interaction at Carnegie Mellon University, my answer became clear: to be a designer with heart and respect for people. I believe if you create something with genuine care for people, good things will always come out. And these thoughtful designs can change our lives in a meaningful way. The very reason I'm excited about being part of this industry.
While I'm familiar with all aspects of user experience design—user research, UI design, usability analysis, and you name, what fascinates me most is "making things". I enjoy thinking through the problems (a.k.a. opportunities), sketching out ideas, and putting them into pixels. And repeating the process until it feels right while constantly asking if the solution will make users smile or frown.
Aside from work, I'm a loving wife, and mom of a three-year-old, which I find just as joyful and rewarding as being a designer.
I'm currently available for a full-time opportunity for a UX design position. If interested, please reach me at: firstname.lastname@example.org
